swing, shift block. Her moves are predicable.
Shift swing , attack. he blocks her moves easily again. An after thought.
Is she even trying?
He's smiling now and she must have noticed this because Natalie stops mid swing and scowls.
Ah, there it is. That look.
"What?' Levi smirks. Before she opens her mouth to tell him how he's been going easy on her, he assumes, and he reaches out and grabs Natalie's sparring stick . Her much too tight grip that she thinks is aiding her only betrays her when he tugs her forward with the force and uses his left foot to trip her landing her hard on her back. The dust of the impact temporarily coverts the both of them, and once it clears, his sparring stick is at her throat.
Hannah Sways in the living room as she wipes down the the coffee table to the made up music in her mind. The only solace from insanity in this small apartment of His. The too clean table, you know, the one shes only wiped down only several time now in her anxiety. So long she's been waiting for him. Irvin. He's often busy in meetings with other cadets, or trainees. Sometimes he even spends his nights at the local at the bar , drinking away whatever stress Hannah can only imagine, because Irvin has never told her a thing about his personal life. A spark of jealousy that Hannah doesn't expect lights inside of her and she cringes. "he's just a place for now" she thinks, repeating the mantra in her mind. " Soon you'll be on your own."

Natalies puffed her cheeks slightly, a small burst of air escaping from her pursed lips as she tried to hide her frustration. "You were going easy on me." She complained, her voice quiet. Levis scowling face always froze her, his judging eyes never changed, his tone never changed, he was just simply....terrifying. She tenativly leant herself up on her elbows, trying to not lean to hard into the stick placed against her throat.
Irvins patience was waning. He had nearly been home when he was approached by commanders of other squads, too quick to squabble over petty dramas the moment they had the chance to speak. He had been almost tempted to hide his face with his paperwork as he rounded the block nearing his home when Commander Nile had ran to meet him, immediately spouting some nonsense about "his role in the community" He stared blankly, exausion heavy in his bones. "Your duty doesn't just include toting some children around the wilderness Commander Irvin, when youre in the city you have a responsibilty to act in service of the King. You cant ignore-" he droned on. "Commander Nile" Irvins voice was quick and curt as his eyes focused back on Nile, "Im well aware of my responsibility i dont need your helpful reminder, unfortunatly seeing as most of my time is spent out beyond the wall gathering suppleies for the 'kingdom' I cant really be involved in every barfight. If youll excuse me." Irvin turned, his focus set on his door and the peace behind it, almost sighing in relief as he left a squinting Nile behind him and quickly retreated into the front door of his house. As he closed the door behind him with a firm aggrivated shove he leant his back against it, his chest falling as he exhaled a hefty sigh of relief.

Levi's dark eyes never left hers as he removed the stick's end from her neck. " You're not focused." His voice wasn't chastiseng. Just simply honest. He lifted the stick fron her throat and Noticed the spot Right beneath her thrumming pluse, delecate and small on her slender neck. She was more worn out then she let on, but even knowing this, Levi knew Natlie would still try and fight to prove her worthiness. He flipped the spar stick in his hand, gracefull, and then swung down with brutal unapologetic force striking Natalie in her face and watching her fall hard back into sand.
Hannah looked down at the dirty crumpled rag in her hands and began scrubbig the couch, hardley noting his presence. He was dressed in tan jeans and a simple black undone tie. Hmm A nice look He was handsome really, Women from all over the town or from the grocery, or bars we're likely to beg for his time or attention. Any where. Stupid women. Hannah knew better. If she were even old enough for him, she would never give in so easily.Beg for his attention? Hah!" All clean!" She gloated. She dusted ger hands off on the very expensive small dress that Irvin had purchsed her. A nice change from the boys clothes she wore before she guessed simply.she could have lived either way. It was strange though , having clothes this nice. Even harder to remeber to care for them. "...what?" She asked, finally confronting the sullen look on his face.

Irvins eyes were barely cracked to regard her. "Were you just dusting the couch?" He asked, pushing up off the door slightly as he began to hang his uniform jacket and boler tie on the hooks by the door. When he turned back to stride up to her he gave her a slow scrutinizing look, grabing the edge of her dirtied dress and chuckling quietly.
Natalie yiped but bit off the cry, her hand jerking to her face to check for blood. She kept her eyes down as she stood quickly. Shed add that to her list of bruses aquired this week. A list of reasons to stop failing is what she was sure he intended them as. She straightened her back and stared straight ahead. "Sorry Sir." She said, her voice clipped

Levi nodded curtly. His stick was up again, and his stance was unmovable in sand. The sheet of warm dirt over his boots was obviously diffrent from the cold snow only a few months prior, and that irked him.In months they'd barley progressed, and Natalie was his only student to show some initiative. Poor, but at least she tried. He looked at the already brused mark he left on her light skin and raised the stick only allowing her enough room to sit up off the dirt. Levi's face was unmoved. It unnerved the other girls behind her who stood defensively with their sticks but never made the move Natalie had.
Hannah peeked up over him to see distressed Nile waving and wagging his hands to the other leaders. His finger occasionally jabbed at Irvin's house. Accusing. She looked down at irvin's large fingers thumbing the dirty lace of her dress, and where she anticipated his frown she found the opposite. ' it was like this when i found it"

Natalie exhaled slowly, her body hurt but there was always something cathartic about training. Levi scared her, but these moments always brought her back to the lazy summer days on the porch with her mother, watching her father and her brothers wrestle. She slid back into stance, looking over Levi's stern unchanging face, his eyes locked on hers with sharp icy scrutiny. He wouldnt let her rest until she got it right. It was years since those days, and she was much smaller then, now he wasn't much taller than her, an inch or two at most. She tightened her jaw and darted forward towards him, her legs were strong from training with the 3dmg and she was quick. When she caught the movement of Levi moving to counter her she ducked to the left swiping her legs behind his as strongly as she could.
Irvins neck tightened as a bark of laughter almost escaped him. Coming home to her ridiculousness had been a bit of a highlight, she was not unlike a large unruly cat he was keeping in his house against his will and he was always unsure of what he was going to walk into. Sometimes he forgot that she was, for all intents and purposes, a prisoner. His expression tightened as he remembered the terror in her eyes when they had walked her to the chopping block. A short sigh puffed from his nose and he released her dress. "Go clean up." His voice was calm but commanding, "we have company tonight."

The cords in Levi's neck tightend, fighting to keep balance but fell back into the dust. He was shocked. Genuinely. His mouth pressed into a thin line. He sat up off the ground into a sitting position, pulling and unraveling the tie to his shirt and , opening his chest up to some much needed air. He noted, it was a move he himself had used on her before. A long time ago. And she'd used it against him. "Clever." He congratulated. He shifted then to stand, but before doing so he jutted out his leg tripping her and sending her back into the dirt right along side him.
"Company??" She repeated. She crossed her arms. "Who exactly?" Please for the love of God don't let it be that pitiful Nile..or the cadets, or on second thought, ANYONE. How could she sit at a table with someone who only wanted to murder her a month ago. " They're checking on you?"

Irvin gave a short nod. "Some other officers. We have budgets to go over mostly, food rationing, supply distribution..." He trailed off, straightening some things around the dining area, grabbing a set of plates from the cubbord and setting them on the table, "...they're going to be watching you as well, checking if youre a 'proper member of society.'" There was a sneer in his voice at the term, they only wanted to catch her in any way that would give them the slightest cause to haul her off. She didnt mean much to them, but just to wound him they would kill her so easily, and here they were supposed to be protectors of humanity. "So I would advise staying silent."
She landed hard and it near knocked the breath out of her. She coughed on the dust for a moment, looking to Levi when it cleared. A laugh escaped her for a moment, a grin on her face at the ridiculousness of them both on their asses in the dirt, but her expression quickly sobered. This was now. This wasnt her front yard. It wasnt summer. And everyone was dead. She scrambled back to her feet and straightened up, eyes forward. "Sir, again?" She asked, her voice clipped.
